A clear starting point
An initial assessment explains the learner’s current level, strengths and difficulties, and the priorities for reaching the target.
About ARC
ARC serves public servants and the departments investing in their French language training, starting with the first foundations. Our purpose is to develop advanced, lasting French proficiency while keeping success on Public Service Commission of Canada (PSC) exams in focus.
Our founder is a qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education and over 30 years of teaching experience, including direct work with Revenue Canada, FedNor, Veterans Affairs, National Defence (DND), and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
That experience informs ARC’s understanding of federal learning requirements, teaching standards and pedagogical direction.
Learners need to know what to improve and how to get there. Departments need a credible basis for planning time, costs and follow-up. ARC connects these needs through clear learning objectives, individualized teaching and useful progress information.
Lessons adapt to each learner’s starting point, with feedback that makes the next steps clear. Your employees receive support to build confidence, work through recurring difficulties and prepare for their target level.
An initial assessment explains the learner’s current level, strengths and difficulties, and the priorities for reaching the target.
Clear explanations, guided practice, conversation and practical tasks are combined according to the skills being developed. Targeted correction and opportunities to try again help learners use French more independently.
An oral exam simulation helps assess readiness. Feedback connects observations to the underlying skills and provides a practical roadmap that learners can apply to new questions and topics.
Activities are chosen for the abilities they develop. We combine explicit instruction, communicative practice, practical tasks and structured repetition.
ARC’s teaching framework and pedagogical direction guide lesson planning and the adaptation of instruction to learner needs.
Learning priorities, planning assumptions and progress information give learners and departments a common basis for discussion.
Targeted correction and opportunities to practise again help learners gain confidence and independence.
We provide online training throughout Canada for federal and provincial public servants. From beginner to advanced levels, the learning remains connected to communication needs and examination goals.
